Acting & Improv
Acting and Improv

CPPAC’s Acting & Improv Program consists of a wide range of offerings for youth and adult actors. Children ages 7 and up who wish to learn the foundational tools and techniques of acting can register for our ACTING SKILLS class. Youth in middle and high school (ages 12 and up) can continue to develop their acting skills in our ACTING & IMPROV class. We also offer ACTING & IMPROV FOR LIFE for adults ages 18 yrs+ who would like to brush up on their acting skills, learn new techniques, and build performance experience.

Build a Band

Students in this class will work together to build their own multi-instrument ensemble. The class emphasizes creating music collaboratively with bandmates, and addresses composition and arrangement, band dynamics, rehearsal techniques, and performance. BUILD-A-BAND is also offered as a week-long workshop in the summer. This is a Stage 2 intermediate class intended for students with previous experience singing or playing an instrument. All instruments and voice types are welcome, and are encouraged to join this one-of-a-kind class!

Choir
Choir

CPPAC’s Choral Program includes vocal ensembles for youth and adults. Each ensemble is thoughtfully led by one of our experienced choral directors, local artists who are active in both performance and teaching. Follow the registration link to learn more about SING! Composer's Workshop

Students in this class will learn to create new music. The class uses listening projects and small in-class exercises to spark creativity and inspire larger projects that will be completed over the course of the remaining term. This is a Stage 2 intermediate class intended for students with previous experience singing or playing an instrument, but no previous songwriting or composition experience is required!

Early Stages, Movement & Storytelling
Froglets and Tadpoles

CPPAC offers classes in music, storytelling, and creative movement for children ages 0 and up. Follow the registration link to learn more about our TADPOLES MUSIC & MOVEMENT and FROGLETS SONG & STORY: Stage 1 & 2 classes.

Guitar & Ukulele
Guitar & Ukulele

CPPAC offers guitar & ukulele classes for youth and adults. No previous experience is necessary for our GUITAR & UKULELE CLASS. All students must bring their guitar or ukulele to each class, including the first class. Instruments may be available for rental from CPPAC, barring availability. If you would like to rent one of our instruments, please contact us before the first class at: info@cathedralparkarts.org Guitars and ukuleles can be purchased locally at 3 Tracks Music (N. Lombard near N. Buchanan).

Marimba
Marimba

At CPPAC, we offer beginning marimba classes for youth and adults and a marimba band for intermediate and advanced students with experience playing marimba. Follow the registration link to learn more about our INTRO TO MARIMBA, MARIMBA CLASS, or the CPPAC MARIMBA BAND.

Musical Theatre

CPPAC offers musical theatre classes year-round for students ages 7 yrs+. Join us during the school year for our MUSICAL THEATRE CLASS and each summer for our SUMMER MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOPS.

Strings

CPPAC now offers strings for youth AND adults. Follow the registration link to learn more about our BEGINNER STRING ENSEMBLE, as well as our all-new INTRO TO STRINGS and ST. JOHNS COMMUNITY CHAMBER ORCHESTRA.

Vocal Workshop
Vocal Workshop

VOCAL WORKSHOP is a group singing course designed for singers who are interested in developing their vocal technique, music theory, and harmonization skills. The course consists of repertoire from various genres and styles, including classical, choral, and contemporary solo and ensemble pieces. Recommended for singers who are preparing to join a choral ensemble, or who wish to strengthen their vocal “chops.” This workshop is offered in rotation with other workshops on select dates only.
